Warranty

Seres Carpet provides a two-year limited repair or replacement warranty on all of our carpets. Seres Carpets warrants to the original purchaser and first user that its carpets will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of two years from date of delivery to the original purchaser. This is a limited warranty and contains specific exclusions and limitations.

In addition to the two year manufacturing warranty, our products also carry additional supplemental warranties provided by our yarn manufacturers.

Performance Expectations

Carpets and rugs are the kind of products you have to walk on, so your floor covering gets more abuse than anything in your home or business. There are outside elements that may affect your carpets or rugs appearance over time. Many of these conditions are not covered under warranty.

These conditions are normal and not considered manufacturing defects:

  • Color and texture may vary slightly from specification samples.
  • Roll marks are caused by rolling the carpet or rug for shipment, but will normally disappear with routine vacuuming.
  • Rolling the rug for shipping can cause seam peaking. Carefully rolling your rug in the opposite direction will minimize this problem, and it should disappear after a few
        weeks.
  • Shedding is normal for new rugs, especially cut piles, and will stop with routine vacuuming.
  • Small filaments of yarn that dislodge and gather on the carpet surface, especially in busy areas, cause pilling and fuzzing, that will also minimize with regular
        vacuuming.
  • Matting and crushing can occur in all rugs, especially at pivot points and traffic paths. Regular vacuuming and proper maintenance help minimize these
        characteristics.
  • Highlighting and shading, particularly in cut pile carpets and rugs, result from light reflecting at different angles on the surface.
  • Watermarking or pooling is caused by the reversal or bending of carpet fibers so that light is either absorbed or reflected from the surface.
  • Occasional sprouting, pulls, or loss of single tufts is normal. Just trim the tuft with sharp shears and vacuum.
  • Ridges or rows may develop in high-traffic areas.
  • Exposure to sunlight, humidity, heat, oxides and other atmospheric gases may cause color changes. Improper maintenance can also affect color appearance.
  • Wet areas, like bathrooms, may cause texture and color changes due to humidity and exposure to chemicals like chlorine.
  • Soil and stain resistance are excellent in Seres carpets, but no carpet is impervious to everything. Routine care and cleaning are vital to maintain long-term
        appearance.

MAINTENANCE

Routine and Preventative Maintenance

Maintaining carpet appearance depends entirely on a commitment to sensible regular and preventative maintenance. Following these simple steps will aid in this effort.

Use proper soil-barrier mats at outdoor entrances and in high-traffic areas.

Do not wait until your carpet is soiled; vacuum weekly to protect your carpet’s appearance. Regular vacuuming also helps control odor and remove particles that can damage fibers.

Seres suggests using a good quality vacuum that features a beater brush to adjust to pile height. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for changing filter bags. Never reuse a filter bag.

Routine cleaning – at least once a year – will extend your carpet’s life significantly. Never let your Seres carpet become overly soiled before cleaning.

Spot Cleaning Techniques

Accidents and spots cannot be avoided when carpet is in use. Seres recommends acting promptly and keeping materials on hand to cope with spills.

Vacuum Care Instructions

Vacuuming regularly can literally extend your carpet’s life, the type of vacuum cleaner you use is important. A vacuum’s performance will vary based on the carpet’s fiber type and construction. A good vacuum typically has features that allow you to adjust the height, beater bar rotation and fan speed. Vacuums with large wheels, self-propelled vacuums and/or specialty tools can also help ensure easy and effective carpet maintenance. Every vacuum manufacturer offers multiple models that can be used on a wide range of carpet constructions.

Extraordinarily soft carpets represent the latest in advanced extrusion technology. Because the fibers are so fine and dense, increased suction from a vacuum cleaner is created at the point of contact on the carpet surface. Therefore, in order to provide maximum care, vacuums with specific features may be necessary to use for optimum maintenance of your extraordinarily soft carpet. The following vacuum cleaner characteristics are suitable for your exceptionally soft carpets.
